Staff Sargent Andrew Sheldon, a serving member of the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers and is currently on tour in the Middle East. This event is not his first fundraiser for the charity. In March 2019 Andrew took on the Akamas Blossom Trial Running Festival and raised £818.00 for Hire a Hero.

Andrew is back with his next challenge, attempting 10km a day for 50 days whilst wearing a 10kg Bergan and boots starting on the 30th Jan. On the 50th day Andrew will finish his challenge by completing a full marathon which is 42.2Km in the same kit.

Here are some words from Andrew:

''I raised money for 'Hire a Hero' 2 years ago last time I was on tour and now on tour again in the Middle East it's time once again to raise money for this amazing charity. Hire a Hero is an excellent charity that helps Service Leavers transition to civilian life and with current climates being as they are, this is no doubt more difficult for them to find their feet. I am just wanting to make people aware that there is help out there and this charity does the upmost for the cause. All money I raise will help this amazing Charity do what it can to help all service leavers.''

Andrew is hoping to raise £2,000 for the charity and would love to have as many people supporting his challenge as possible. We will be following Andrew's journey and updating our social media channels regularly with his updates. If you would like to support Andrew please visit his fundraising page here.
