Outline of Business/Company. Housing Repairs Service for London Borough of Enfield

General Description:
Provide leadership in the management, organisation and control of 13 direct reports consisting of an Area Chargehand and a team of 13 Craft Operatives.

Key Responsibilities:
The repairs manager will have budgetary control and responsibility for the delivery of £1.25m of repairs per annum ensuring that value for money is provided at all times.

The management and scrutiny of the profit and loss account for their trading area.

Managing a sub-contractor budget of £150k.

Contract management of a supplies budget of £100k.

Experience of leading and managing a team of multi-disciplined staff within a performance management framework.

Experience of delivering a directly provided service with resident focus and a high level of achievement of key performance indicators.

Key Skills:
Experience of delivering an efficient service in a commercially viable environment.

Skilled in staff management in delivering a front-line service in a social housing environment.

Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety relating to repairs and maintenance.

Experience of managing complex data in relation to strategic workforce planning.

Physical Requirements:
To be able to drive in order to carry out the duties of the post in order to inspect works at various sites throughout their area of responsibility and to attend meetings at different locations.

Experience and Technical Skills / Professional Qualifications:
It is essential that candidates will be expected to have completed a recognised trade apprenticeship or to have been educated to degree level in an equivalent and relevant profession.
