Warehouse Assistant

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTING TO: Warehouse Manager

SALARY: £19,000 per annum + bonus and benefits 

MAIN AIM: To assist the Warehouse Manager in the efficient running of the Company’s distribution warehouse and Web Shop


Stock Control
· To assemble storage packs

· To accurately pick and pack orders for Stores and the Web Shop

· To ensure that adequate stock is available to meet the demands of the Web Shop.

· To ensure the correct delivery of the Web Shop customer service standards, where necessary checking the delivery address and times

· To assist in the monthly stock counts and the investigation of any discrepancies.

· To manage and control other “Company” stock stored in the Warehouse

· To load and unload stock using the Company forklift

· To check the quality and quantity of all goods received before acceptance

· To liaise with the distribution company drivers for stock deliveries / returns to / from stores

· To liaise with stores regarding deliveries / returns

· To assemble, check and load orders for dispatch to stores

· To liaise with Customer Support and the distribution agency for the delivery of Web Shop orders

Administration Support
· To assist with the input of stock movement onto Space Manager and Navision

· To correctly file all stock movement documentation

· To maintain the service standards on a daily basis

· To complete the Due Diligence on a daily basis to the required Company standards

Health and Safety
· To stack empty pallets in a tidy manner and to prepare them for collection

· To comply with the Store and Company Health and Safety Plans to ensure the Health and Safety of all staff and visitors

· To comply with emergency procedures relating to staff and visitors

· To monitor the security of the Warehouse throughout the day via regular visual checks

· To be aware of emergency security procedures

· To comply with the Warehouse security procedures during working hours and open and close the warehouse

· To correctly use Company systems

· To communicate any faulty equipment or any maintenance requirements to the Warehouse Manager in a timely manner

· To maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the Warehouse

Self Development
· To take responsibility for personal growth and development

· To identify own development needs

· To attend relevant Company meetings and courses.

· To participate in Company training and development initiatives.

· To identify areas for improvement and make appropriate suggestions.

· To ensure that standards of personal appearance are in accordance with the Company Dress Code

· To provide the Warehouse Manager with regular feedback in respect of any operational matters

· To forward any ideas to the Warehouse Manager to assist in the improvement and development of the business

· To undertake any other ad hoc duties in order to support the department / Company

· To ensure the confidentiality of Company information
