Maj Lloyd Morgan QM & Maj Rebecca Pogson-Hughes-Emanuel MBE will be heading off to take on the 18 day Expedition (15 days total trek time) to complete 3 peaks, 3 high passes and reach Everest Base Camp in aid of Hire a Hero.  They are doing this entirely unsupported, carrying all their own equipment required for the duration of the trek.

Both Lloyd and Rebecca have their own reasons for completing this challenge for Hire a Hero see their reasons below:

Having commissioned from Regimental Sergeant Major in the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers, I am now a Late Entry Major and have served nearly 30 years. I have been involved with the charity over the last two years and have seen how important this charity is to service leavers and veterans to assist them transitioning from Military life to the civilian world. I have completed several charity events for Hire a Hero, but this one will be my biggest trial yet.

I am going to embark on another challenge to raise valuable funds for Hire a Hero.

As an ex soldier, now commissioned as a Major in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers I have met my fair share of service leavers and seen how challenging it can be to transition to our next career after military service. It is daunting and can be one of the hardest things a service leaver can face. Within the services we provide support and advice to service leavers but we are not specialists and do not have the network best suited to truly help.....this is where Hire a Hero come into the picture.

I have had an awareness of this charity over the last two years and have seen how helpful it is to service leavers and veterans so felt compelled to do my part to both raise awareness of Hire a Hero to my fellow service persons and veterans and try to raise crucial funding. So here comes another one of my daft challenges.........
