Job Title: Plant Fitter

General Description
· As a part of the team the role of Fitter is central to the successful running of this well-known and highly regarded group of businesses, situated in north Hampshire.

· Day-to-day activities include the servicing and repairing of the organisation’s full range of hire equipment and tools, maintaining the quality, safety, reliability, and availability of hire stock in a cost-effective manner. Mostly based at the depot but from time to time you will also be required to make deliveries of equipment etc.

· Carrying out refurbishments where necessary plus maintaining and ensuring maximum workshop productivity in line with company targets.

· Would suit someone who is a self-starter, well organised, punctual, and reliable and in particular someone with a military background would bring a set of skills highly suitable for this role and organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
· Routine service and maintenance of all hire equipment and products including electrical testing where required.

· Routine service and maintenance of other equipment owned and used by the company.

· Go to site and carry out reactive repairs to hire fleet to maintain customer productivity.

· Carry out the full repair and refurbishment of equipment where necessary as well as electrical testing.

· Liaise with the Branch Manager when spare parts are required to ensure cost-effective repairs

· Ensure service records are maintained and updated onto the in-house system and daily worksheets are populated and all equipment is cleaned ready for hire.

· Adhere to company guidelines on Health & Safety at work at all times.

Experience:
· Ideally you will have about 2-3 years’ experience in a background or role similar to the responsibilities needed for this position, gained in the armed forces.

Salary & Benefits:
£30,000 + company pension scheme, healthcare, company vehicle and mobile phone.

Hours 07.00 – 17.00 Monday to Friday – with occasional Saturday work available. Both shop and office based, with visits to customers premises as necessary.
