Ron is a Partner at the financial regulatory and compliance consultancy, ACA Compliance Group and the Chief Executive of ACA’s operations in Europe. He also continues to serve as a senior consultant, predominately in the alternative fund management space (hedge fund, private equity etc.) advising clients on the implications of UK and European regulatory developments as well as fundamental compliance arrangements. Ron leads ACA’s mock-examination programme, conducting forensic examination and client-staff interviews closely simulating a regulatory inspection by the UK regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority (‘FCA’). Ron also remains a lead consultant in ACA’s training offering and managing FCA Part 4A licensing applications.

Prior to establishing the ACA offices in Europe, Ron had a similar role, as the founder and, for nine years, the CEO of a major UK compliance consultancy servicing the fund management and securities industry and before that he was at the Financial Services Authority. At the FSA, Ron was an Officer in Corporate Authorisation and early-stage Supervision with responsibility for authorising investment managers and undertaking examination visits to regulated firms across the UK to review their ability to operate in a compliant manner under the prevailing regulations. This was preceded by a career in finance and wholesale investment at asset management firms, AIB Govett and Baring Asset Management.

Ron has been previously approved by the FSA to hold the CF10 (Compliance Oversight), CF11 (MLRO) and various senior governance functions. He is routinely invited to speak at conferences and major trade events in Europe and the US.  Latterly Ron’s role has included international regulatory implications and he has most-recently presented at seminars in multiple jurisdictions on the impact of the AIFMD, UK regulation, EU Directives and other legislation applicable to fund managers.

Ron was educated in England, attending The College of Richard Collyer and Crawley Tech. Following his BTEC National qualification in Business and Finance, Ron went on to secure the Investment Management Certificate, a professional qualification under the CFA Society of the UK, subsequently making him an Associate of the Compliance Institute. Ron is also a Member of the Institute of Directors.

Ron has supported Hire a Hero since inception both in terms of fundraising at events and his contribution to the charity’s London Network, promoting the charity and its work through a network of contacts and associates.
